In a series-connected MTDC arrangement the same DC current flows through the terminals, and power reversal at a terminal can be achieved by reversing its DC voltage polarity while current direction is maintained. This permits electrical power reversal without a mechanical DC switching operation, as identified in option A.

Series MTDC power control is naturally associated with terminal voltage polarity.
Do not assume all MTDC configurations reverse power in the same way.
