A bipolar junction transistor conducts through both majority and minority carriers, so charge storage occurs in its base and collector regions. This minority-carrier storage is why BJTs switch more slowly than majority-carrier devices such as MOSFETs.

Bipolar device → minority-carrier participation.
Do not classify a MOSFET as a minority-carrier device; it is a majority-carrier device.
