Application Fee

Eligibility Criteria
1. Nationality
- Agniveervayu: Indian citizens (male & female)
- Airmen Group Y – Medical Assistant: Indian citizens and Gorkha subjects of Nepal (male only)
2. Age Limit
Candidates must be born between 01 July 2005 and 01 January 2010 (both dates inclusive) for Agniveervayu. If a candidate clears all stages of selection, the upper age limit on the date of enrolment must not exceed 22 years.
For Airmen Group Y (Medical Assistant), the age limit varies by category — up to 21 years for 10+2 pass candidates and up to 24 years for Diploma/Degree (Pharmacy) holders.
3. Marital Status
Only unmarried candidates are eligible to apply. Selected candidates must undertake not to marry during the four-year engagement period. Female candidates must additionally undertake not to become pregnant during this period, since pregnancy or marriage during service can lead to dismissal.
4. Educational Qualification (Agniveervayu)
Science Subjects: Passed 10+2 / equivalent examination with Physics, Mathematics and English with a minimum of 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English; OR a 3-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology) from a recognised Polytechnic/Institute with 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English in 10th class.
Non-Science Subjects: Passed 10+2 / equivalent examination in any stream/subjects with a minimum 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English; OR a 2-year Vocational Course with 50% marks aggregate and 50% marks in English in 10th class.
Medical Assistant Trade: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) with minimum 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English, OR a Diploma/Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised institute.
Physical Standards
- Height: Minimum 152.5 cm (relaxable for certain regions/categories as per notification)
- Chest (Male): Minimum expansion of 5 cm
- Chest (Female – Agniveervayu only): Minimum expansion of 5 cm
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards
- Hearing: Able to hear forced whisper from 6 metres, each ear separately
- Dental: Healthy gums with a minimum of 14 dental points; orthodontic appliances and dental implants are disqualifying

Selection Process
The Indian Air Force Agniveervayu selection is a multi-stage, fully merit-based process:

Airmen Group Y – Medical Assistant (20-Year Regular Cadre)
Medical Assistants receive a training stipend of ₹14,600 per month, followed by a starting gross salary of approximately ₹26,900 per month after training, with regular pay-scale progression, allowances, and long-term service benefits under a permanent cadre.
